Hunting With hundreds of thousands of acres of cultivated crop lands
surrounding the Town, the area offers ideal feeding grounds for a variety of
waterfowl. It is no wonder that Eagle Lake and environs has been named “The
Goose Hunting Capital of the World” as it provides accommodation for the world’s
largest wild goose concentrations.
Hunting Season, although varying slightly from year to year, is primarily from mid-September through mid-March. During the season, geese to be found include Canada, Snow, Blue and Speckle belly. Additionally various species of duck abound including Mallard, Teal and Pintail.
There are a number of Outfitters, Guides and Bird Processors in the area, and The Farris Hotel is only too pleased to coordinate accommodations and hunting requirements. For more information on Hunting Rates, Local Outfitters and Guide Services go to our Brochure page.
